Gulet Cruises

Don’t mistake this holiday as one only suitable for keen sailors. The Turkish gulet is a kind of comfortable floating apartment complete with a crew to both safely navigate you to a magical Turkey afloat, but also to wait on you hand and foot. Superbly comfortable and providing a unique holiday experience, one of our gulet cruises will take you to beautiful secluded bays and idyllic anchorages, many not accessible by road. You’ll visit blue lagoons, ruins of ancient baths, traditional Turkish villages and historical sites in real style.
The Cruises
At Holidays 4U we have two separate cruises. Our Bodrum based Carian Cruise ventures into the Gulf of Gokova with its many enchanting anchorages and forgotten communities.
The Marmaris-based Lycian Cruise explores the many isolated coves of the Fethiye Bay, a river trip to some fun mud baths, before a stopover at the famous sandy beach of Olu Deniz.
Whichever cruise you choose, you will enjoy the companionship of your fellow guests, swimming in turquoise waters, sunbathing and trying various water sports on the way. You may even get a school of dolphins keeping the gulet company. Either cruise is as relaxing or energetic as you choose to make it.

The Gulets
Your home for the week is a traditional Turkish wooden yacht or ‘gulet’, powered by either strong winds or an inboard engine. Each gulet boasts 6 to 8 wood-panelled cabins with either a double bed or a bunk bed arrangement. You need not worry about sharing facilities as each cabin comes with its own bathroom comprising a WC, washbasin and shower.
The front deck or ‘bow’ of each of our gulets are fitted with comfy sunbeds for the ultimate in sunbathing. The stern houses a canopied deck for relaxing in the shade, while the mid-section of the vessel has an indoor lounge and bar area. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in a comfortable cushioned dining area at the stern. Meals are prepared onboard using fresh ingredients cooked by the crew and they will often barbecue fish caught on the cruise!
Your captain of the ‘gulet’ will be a master sailor, certified by the Ministry of Turkish Maritime Operations. He is likely to be a salty old sea-dog, but is usually also an outstanding host to his guests. He will do everything in his power to ensure your cruise runs as smoothly as possible.
Board
All the cruises are sold on a full board basis which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, even when this is not mentioned in the itineraries. Drinks are not included, but there’s a well stocked bar on board and you can settle your bar tab before you disembark at the end of the week. If you are booking the whole boat you can upgrade to All Inclusive, which includes all your drinks.
Children
At Holidays 4 U we love kids and we are happy for children to travel on the gulets providing you are chartering the whole boat. If you are booking a cabin on the boat we do restrict places to children over 12, out of consideration for other passengers. If you are taking children on a gulet holiday please remember that these are small boats and the space for play is limited. For safety’s sake children should always wear life jackets at all times when on board.

Two-Centre Holidays
We can provide either of our gulet cruises as a two-centre holiday option. Our Cruise & Stay holidays are always popular. Spend the first or second week in one of our selected hotels or apartments with a second week aboard a traditional gulet cruising the myriad of islands and coves on our Lycian or Carian cruises.
Our Two-Centre Gulet Holidays are not currently bookable online so you’ll need to either contact your travel agent or call us direct on 0870 444 3843, however if you want to work out the approximate cost of such an arrangement take the cost of the gulet cruise, and add on 7 extra nights from your selected accommodation, as shown in the relevant price panel, and then add £25 per person to cover your transfer costs.
Whole Boat Charters
Want a whole boat for your family and friends? See your travel agent or call us on 0870 444 3843 to confirm the price. If you are booking a whole boat you can also choose to upgrade to All Inclusive or even book the Gulet for 14 nights.
Itineraries & Prices
When you click through to the cruises using the links below you will find prices for a one week holiday on a gulet, which can only be booked if you arrive on a Sunday. If you are booking a split-centre you can arrive on a Friday or a Sunday (if you arrive on a Friday you will split your accommodation either side of the gulet departure).
